Grievance Policy
First Step-Anyone with a grievance or complaint may request an individual conference with the instructor or staff member to discuss the matter. Second Step-If a satisfactory resolution to the problem is not reached, the aggrieved party should seek guidance from the Director. Third Step-If the grievance is not resolved within 5 days of the incident, the aggrieved party must present to the President of The Institute of Cannabinoid Medicine (TIOCM) in writing, all facts of the grievance. Within 48 hours, upon receipt of the written information, the President will schedule a Grievance Committee hearing. The time of the meeting will be communicated in writing to all parties. The committee will consist of the Vice President and other The Institute of Cannabinoid Medicine (TIOCM) leadership/officers not involved with the incident in question. All Persons or their representatives involved with the incident must be present via teleconference at the time of the hearing. All parties involved will be given the opportunity to discuss the grievance. The Grievance Committee will excuse all parties involved in the grievance and immediately review and conclude the case. The decision of the committee will be communicated to those involved in the incident within 48 hours. The committee decision will be final.
Anti-Hazing and Bullying Policy
The Institute of Cannabinoid Medicine (TIOCM) is dedicated to promoting a safe and healthy campus environment for its students, faculty, staff and visitors. As such, The Institute of Cannabinoid Medicine (TIOCM) will not tolerate hazing activities or bullying by any individuals, groups, or recognized student organizations.
Sexual Harassment Policy
In an effort to provide a safe and productive educational and working environment for students, faculty, and staff, The Institute of Cannabinoid Medicine (TIOCM) has adopted the following policy to promote an environment free of sex and gender discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual misconduct, interpersonal violence (including domestic violence and dating violence), and stalking. Gender discrimination includes discrimination on the basis of gender orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
Sexual Harassment Policy-Reporting to Authorities
The Institute of Cannabinoid Medicine (TIOCM) prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex and gender and prohibits sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual misconduct, interpersonal violence, stalking, physical abuse, threats of violence, physical assault, or any form of sexual violence. These behaviors are hereafter referred to as prohibited conduct. Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Program and Policy
The Institute of Cannabinoid Medicine (TIOCM) is committed to provide students, faculty, staff and visitors with a safe and healthful learning environment and workplace. It is the policy of the school that illicit drugs and alcohol use, manufacture, unlawful possession, sale, distribution, or dispensation by any student or employee on The Institute of Cannabinoid Medicine (TIOCM) property or virtual learning platform (LMS) or as part of any The Institute of Cannabinoid Medicine (TIOCM) activities is strictly prohibited.
Dismissal

Sanctions and Revocation of Diplomate
The sanction imposed upon an individual whom The Institute of Cannabinoid Medicine (TIOCM) has determined to have violated the policies and rules of its certification program must reasonably relate to the nature and severity of the violation, focusing on reformation of the conduct of the member and deterrence of similar conduct by others. Any of the following sanctions may be imposed by the Executive Board upon an individual: 1. Written reprimand; 2. Suspension of the certificant for a designated period; or 3. Suspension of applicant’s ability to submit an application for certification/examination; or 4. Termination of the individual’s certification; or 5. Termination of the individual’s certification application status including prohibiting the individual from applying for certification in the future.
Resignation of Diplomate
If an individual who is the subject of a complaint voluntarily surrenders his or her certification (or in the case of an applicant, surrenders his or her ability to apply for certification in the future) at any time during the pendency of a complaint under these Procedures, the complaint is dismissed without any further action by The Institute of Cannabinoid Medicine (TIOCM). The entire record is sealed and the individual may not reapply for certification. However, The Institute of Cannabinoid Medicine (TIOCM) may authorize the President to communicate the fact and date of resignation, and the fact and general nature of the complaint which was pending at the time of the resignation, to or at the request of a government entity engaged in the administration of law. Similarly, in the event of such resignation, the certificant's employer (if deemed appropriate by The Institute of Cannabinoid Medicine (TIOCM)) and the person or entity who submitted the complaint are notified of the fact and date of resignation and that The Institute of Cannabinoid Medicine (TIOCM) has dismissed the complaint as a result.
