Janice Bissex, MS, RDN, FAND, Diplomate of Medical Cannabinoid Science®

Janice Bissex is a Holistic Cannabis Practitioner, Program Director of Cannabinoid Medical Sciences at John Patrick University (www.JPU.edu) and a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. After her dad found relief from his pain using medical cannabis it became Janice’s mission to help others suffering from chronic pain, anxiety, insomnia, autoimmune disorders, IBD/IBS, and other debilitating conditions find relief using CBD and cannabis. She completed training and certification through the Holistic Cannabis Academy and also completed the Cannabis Fundamentals Certificate Program at GreenFlower. 

Janice now advises clients on access, proper cannabinoid ratios, dosing, best consumption methods, and cooking with cannabis in her  Jannabis Wellness consulting business.  Janice partnered with a Colorado manufacturer of organically-grown medicinal grade hemp to provide phytocannabinoid-rich hemp CBD products for her clients under her Jannabis Wellness label.

Dr. Ohonba is a Licensed/Registered Pharmacist who completed clinical  clerkships in Internal Medicine, Community Practice and Ambulatory Care.  Dr. Ohonba’s formal pharmacy expertise was honed with CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens Pharmacy and OptumRx of United Healthcare. 

Dr. Lola Ohonba (aka Dr. O. to our #ChiefSkillzTribe on Clubhouse) helps patients understand the health benefits of plant medicine including cannabis and psychedelics. Her book “A Pharmacist’s Guide to Cannabis: A perspective of a non-conformist clinician” is available on Amazon.com. It’s a fantastic overview of the wellness benefits of cannabis and gives insight into the endocannabinoid system and terpenes in an easy to digest guide.

Janna's focus is holistic treatment, and natural alternatives to pharmaceuticals including cannabis therapy, and epigenetic screening (nutrigenomics).  She has worked as a cannabis-specialty nurse since  2015, and has guided thousands of patients to achieve optimized medical  cannabis therapy outcomes.  Nurse Janna's specialties include: Autism,  Autoimmune, Inflammatory/Chronic Pain Syndromes, Neurological,  Gastrointestinal, and Mental Health conditions.

Brian Essenter, RPh is a graduate of Northeastern University and a  registered pharmacist. Brian is a former Dispensary Manager at one of  the busiest dispensaries in Connecticut for almost 3 years. He also  worked for 16 years for one of the nations largest national retail  pharmacy chains in MA, NV, and CT. 

Brian is the owner of MM Consult CT.  At MM Consult CT Brian’s goal is to answer any and all questions  regarding the benefits of medical marijuana. He is also able to guide  patients through the difficult process of navigating Connecticut’s  Medical Marijuana program.

Dr. Lafferty holds credentials as a Doctor of Pharmacy and Doctor of  Naturopathy as well as an MBA in Healthcare.  Dr. Lafferty is also a  Diplomate from the American Clinical Board of Nutrition and a Master  Herbalist.  As an Endowed Professor at Nova Southeastern University, Dr.  Lafferty loves to teach and is committed to finding the safest and most  effective means to promote health and wellness.
Dr. Lafferty holds  professional memberships with the American Academy of Environmental  Medicine, Florida Pharmacy Association, Broward County Pharmacy  Association, Functional Medicine Pharmacist Alliance, and American  Clinical Board of Nutrition.

Donnie is a Registered Pharmacist specializing in the preparation and delivery of compounded medications  Donnie's leadership experiences includes appointments as president of the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy Committee in 2011 (and member since 2005), Chairman and member of several NCPA- National Community Pharmacists Association committees as past president of the NCPA Foundation and of NCPA. He is also a member of National Board of Directors Pharmacists Mutual since 2005, member of Pharmacist National Life Insurance since 2005, and member of Pharmacists Life Insurance since 2005.  

Dr. Mary Van, The Institute of Cannabinoid Medicine

Mary Van, Pharm.D., RPh, DACBN, Diplomate of Medical Cannabinoid Science®

Dr. Van is a clinical pharmacist, owner and director of ThriveX Medical Wellness and Infusion Center. Mary is a Doctor of Pharmacy graduate of Nova Southeastern University and completed dissertation research on "Translocation in phorbol-12, 13 dibutyrate treated PC12 cells."

In addition to being a subject matter expert on cannabis, nutrition and clinical oncology; Dr. Van completed additional board certifications from the American Clinical Board of Nutrition earning the Diplomate American Clinical Board of Nutrition (DACBN), and Functional Medicine University (CFMP).

Dr. Van hold academic appointments as a Lecturer at Nova Southeastern University, and Adjunct Lecturer at University of Technology, Jamacia.
