Mary Clifton, MD is a board-certified, licensed, internal medicine doctor practicing in New York City. She is a best-selling author of “The Grass Is Greener: Medical Marijuana, THC & CBD OIL: Reversing Chronic Pain, Inflammation and Disease” and “Get Waisted”, as well as five companion cookbooks.
Mary is also a consultant and a highly recognized expert and speaker on the impacts and applications of CBD and Cannabis. She is a sought-after speaker at major cannabinoid events around the world, including Africa, Europe and Asia. Dr. Clifton graduated magna cum laude from Michigan State University and attended medical school among the top primary care physicians at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine with high honor designations in internal medicine, family practice, pediatrics and obstetrics/gynecology.
Dr. Rachel Knox is a certified Cannabinoid Medicine specialist who received her medical and business degrees from Tufts University after completing her undergraduate studies at Duke. She trained in Family and Integrative Medicine before pursuing additional study in the areas of Functional Medicine, Cannabinoid Medicine, and Endocannabinology - the study of the function, dysfunction and modulation of the most important physiologic system in the human body, the endocannabinoid system.
She is passionate about educating her professional peers and broader public about the safety and effectiveness of Cannabinoid Medicine, the evidence-based clinical integration of Endocannabinology with Cannabinology.
Dr. Jessica Knox is a board-certified preventive medicine physician with a keen interest in health literacy and access. She received her bachelor’s degree from Harvard University before going on to earn her medical and business degrees from Tufts University. After completing her residency in preventive medicine, Dr. Jessica began her study of the endocannabinoid system and cannabis medicine.
She has spoken on numerous medical cannabis panels, presented at cannabis conferences nationwide, and appeared on nationally televised programs and global webcasts to discuss the burgeoning fields of Endocannabinology™ and Cannabinoid Medicine. Dr. Janice Vaughn-Knox is a board-certified anesthesiologist who believes in the power of self-healing. Dr. Janice uses her expertise, experience and knowledge of cannabis therapeutics to help cure and relieve symptoms of chronic disease that traditional medicine has failed to conquer. Dr. Janice is certified by the American Academy of Cannabinoid Medicine as a Cannabinoid Medicine Specialist. Janice Newell Bissex is a Holistic Cannabis Practitioner and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. After her dad found relief from his pain using medical cannabis it became Janice’s mission to help others suffering from chronic pain, anxiety, insomnia, autoimmune disorders, IBD/IBS, and other debilitating conditions find relief using CBD and cannabis. Anthony Smith received his PhD from Oregon State University in Molecular & Cellular Biology with an emphasis on biochemistry, metabolism and nutrition. He founded Kenevir Research, which was acquired by EVIO Labs in 2015. Before entering the Cannabis industry, Dr. Smith worked in natural products and biomedical research while serving as a leading international authority on aging, lipoic acid and vascular disease.
He brings over 15 years of natural product research, quality assurance, product development, GMP manufacturing, FDA & regulatory experience and analytical chemistry expertise. Dr. Smith was recently appointed to the Oregon governor’s Task Force on Researching the Medicinal and Public Health Properties of Cannabis and serves on the scientific advisory board for the Ashland, Oregon based non-profit medical and horticultural research group, the Health Research Institute.
Jim Bartell’s public affairs and public relations career spans more than thirty years and has consisted of leadership positions in numerous local, regional, state and federal administrations. Jim’s legislative and governmental background is extensive. In 1976, Jim served as staff assistant to a San Diego County supervisor. He then served as a chief of staff to a United States Congressman from San Diego for eight years prior to becoming a partner with a San Diego public affairs agency. Jim was also a mayor and councilmember in the City of Santee for six terms from its incorporation in 1980 through 2002.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from San Diego State University and a Master’s degree in public administration from National University. He served four years in the United States Navy, including three years in Vietnam where he received numerous commendations and medals. Jim is a member of the San Diego County Building Industry Association and serves on the Board of Directors of the San Diego World Trade Center, San Diego Master Chorale and the USO San Diego Chapter.

Jason is a science educator, natural products researcher, and laboratory quality management consultant that has been studying the Cannabis plant and its chemical constituents for the past decade. As host of the Curious About Cannabis Podcast, he has the opportunity to regularly speak with leading experts in Cannabis and cannabinoid science. He is also the author of the Curious About Cannabis book, a textbook that provides readers with a survey of Cannabis and cannabinoid science topics.
Jason serves as a scientific advisor to a variety of Cannabis companies and universities across the United States and regularly provides trainings, guest lectures, seminars, classes and workshops on Cannabis and cannabinoid science topics for audiences including the general public, Cannabis industry workers, researchers, regulators, and health care professionals. In his free time he volunteers with groups like the International Institute for Cannabinoids (ICANNA) and serves as a member on the board of directors for the Oregon Cannabis Education and Resource Center (OCERC) where he assists the development of science-driven Cannabis and cannabinoid educational materials."
Elisabeth founded Holistic Caring in 2016 to bridge the gap between traditional and cannabis medicine through education, guidance, and supportive care for patients with product choices, dosages, interactions and timing. She pursued her medical degree at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Her post-doctoral education included internship and residency at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. Goldstein also served as Chief Resident at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. She was a Clinical Instructor in Pediatrics at USC School of Medicine in Los Angeles, Emergency Transport Attending Physician at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and Emergency Medicine Attending Physician in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center.
Dr. Bonnie Brock is a Registered Dietitian as well as a Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist and Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Brock obtained a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from Cornell University, a Masters of Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from National University of Health Sciences. As both a Registered Dietitian and a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, Dr. Brock recognizes the body's inherent ability to heal itself once the underlying causes of illness are identified and removed.
