Jim Bartell, MPA

Mr. Bartell is credited on September 28, 2021, having Governor of California- Gavin Newsom sign SB 311, also known  as “Ryan’s Law”, requiring healthcare facilities to allow the use of  medical cannabis on their premises for terminally ill patients with a  valid Medical Marijuana Identification Card (MMIC) or/ recommendation  from an attending physician. The law was passed by the legislature with  support from a diverse group of organizations including Americans for  Safe Access (ASA). 

Jim Bartell’s public affairs and public relations career spans more than thirty years and has consisted of leadership positions in numerous local, regional, state and federal administrations. Jim’s legislative and governmental background is extensive. In 1976, Jim served as staff assistant to a San Diego County supervisor. He then served as a chief of staff to a United States Congressman from San Diego for eight years prior to becoming a partner with a San Diego public affairs agency. Jim was also a mayor and council member in the City of Santee for six terms from its incorporation in 1980 through 2002. 


John Malanca

John co-founded the United Patients Group (UPG), a trusted resource and leader in medical cannabis information and education for patients, physicians, pharmacists, governments, and organizations, both domestically and internationally.   

Brad Graham, MPH

Brad brings 30 years of Executive Leadership experience including 2 decades in managing large operations in the managed care and finance space.  Brad has lead teams that built from the ground up programs in Claims Administration, Telemedicine, Analytics, and Utilization Review.  Serving others is at the core of Brad’s core beliefs in creating great enterprise value with a purpose. 

Michael Dubanewicz, DHA, EdD, DACBN, CN, CCN, CFM, CDM, CFPP, LDN

Dr. Dubanewicz currently serves as the Dean of Integrative & Functional Medicine for John Patrick University of Health & Applied Sciences. 

Michael has experience as a classically trained chef, nutritionist and dietary manager. He also instructed high school Family & Consumer Sciences Food & Nutrition/Culinary Arts programs and was University Professor of Culinary Nutrition. 

Michael has been recognized and nominated as Disney® Teacher of the Year and a Golden Toque Honoree (Le Cordon Bleu). He has been published and featured in Chef Educator Today Magazine, and appeared in the Sun-Sentinel & Miami Herald News, along with a food radio broadcast of, “Join Us at the Table. He was an American Naturopathic Medical Association (ANMA) Higher Achievement Award recipient for his continued work in the field of naturopathic education and commitment to quality care.
